Alta Bates Summit Medical Center has been ranked among the top five best hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area in U.S. News & World Report’s first-ever Best Hospitals metro area rankings. The medical center also received recognition for high performance in four specific areas: Ear, Nose & Throat, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics and Urology.
The U.S. News and World Report metro area rankings recognize 622 hospitals in or near major cities with a record of high performance in key medical specialties. To be ranked in its metro area, at least one of a hospital’s medical specialties had to score in the top 25 percent of nearly 5,000 hospitals nationwide.
“With great pride I acknowledge and thank the physicians, nurses and staff at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center for their outstanding care and expertise. Recognitions such as this support the continued trust our patients and families have as they turn to us for their care,” said David Bradley, CEO.
