As a child, Sheri Buda, R.N., remembers always being interested in the moms in her Berkeley neighborhood who were having babies. Click here to see her story.

In kindergarten, she drew a picture of what she wanted to be when she grew up. Today, Sheri is nurse manager in the Labor and Delivery and Antepartum unit on the Alta Bates campus and that drawing of a nurse is on her office wall.

“Even at a young age, I knew I wanted to work in obstetrics,” she says. “The artwork I drew as a child is a fond reminder of why I pursued a nursing career. I’m so happy to be working at Alta Bates.

“I consider myself to be blessed to have known what I wanted to do at such a young age,” says Sheri. “While attending Berkeley High School, I volunteered at Alta Bates and I received a scholarship to attend nursing school. It’s very exciting for me, 25 years later, to come back around full circle and to be a nurse manager at Alta Bates.”
